Frustrated with the daily struggle of trying to achieve a magnificent mane? Don't fret. You're not alone. Research shows that a whoppi women have been frustrated with their hair care results and almost half of women select the wrong products. No wonder so many of us women feel like we just can't get it right! "Choosing the wrong products is a common mistake that prevents women from achieving their desired look," says celebrity hair stylist Cheryl Marks, who has tamed the tresses of Cameron Diaz and Neve Campbell. "Using the correct products will help unlock your ultimate potential and make it easier to create the beautiful style you want." To take the guesswork out of your routine, Marks recommends that women use products specially designed to help create the specific loo full, voluminous tresses or bouncy, spiral curls. In addition, Marks recommends the following tips to help create the head-turning tresses you crave: • Use products that contain a Pro-Vitamin complex to help protect hair from breakage and split ends while enhancing shine. • A good cut is essential. Regular trims every six to eight weeks clean up dead ends. Remember to keep texture, face shape and lifestyle in mind when choosing a cut. • Before styling, use a wide-tooth comb to gently untangle hair starting with the bottom up. Remove excess moisture with an absorbent towel and air-dry by 80 percent before styling. • Use the right tools for the task. In addition to a good dryer with a cooling button to "freeze" in style, keep a small round brush and hot or Velcro rollers on hand for voluminous styles, a synthetic boar-bristle smoothing brush for sleek, straight looks and a diffuser for curly tresses. Styling clips are helpful for sectioning while styling. • Style smart. Talk to your stylist about
how to style correctly. In general, comb product through wet to
distribute it evenly and fight frizz with a small amount of finishing spray
after styling. |
